Kori Danda

Kori Danda (3,250 m), the secret crown of the Sikles region, is a razor-sharp grassy ridge that juts out like a ship’s prow into the void, delivering one of the most overwhelming 360° Himalayan panoramas on the planet: Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal, and the entire glittering chain of 7,000–8,000 m giants spinning around you in a complete circle, closer and more vertical than almost anywhere else outside of base camps. Reached by a heart-pounding sunrise climb from Sikles village or Hugu Goth through flower meadows and rhododendron tunnels, the final knife-edge summit feels like standing on the roof of the world with nothing but air and ice in every direction. On crystal days you can see from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way to Manaslu and Ganesh Himal in the east, with Machhapuchhre’s perfect fishtail pyramid floating like a mirage in the foreground. Almost nobody comes here; prayer flags snap in the wind, eagles ride the thermals at eye level, and the silence is so pure you can hear your own heartbeat. Raw, wind-whipped, and staggeringly beautiful, Kori Danda isn’t just a viewpoint; it’s the moment the Annapurnas reach down, grab your soul, and refuse to let go.
