Frequently Asked & Question

No, it’s moderate, not extreme. The longest days are 7–8 hours and the highest sleeping point is 4,130 m. Fit beginners who can walk 5–7 hours/day succeed every time. The many stone steps are the hardest part — good knees and basic fitness are enough.

March–May (spring: rhododendrons blooming, warm) and September–November (autumn: clearest skies, best views). Both are excellent. Winter (Dec–Feb) is quieter and sunny but colder at ABC; monsoon (Jun–Aug) is possible but rainy lower down.

Risk is low compared to EBC. We gain height gradually, sleep max 4,130 m, and include proper acclimatisation. Our guides carry oxygen & GAMOW bag if needed. Diamox is recommended as prevention (consult your doctor).

Tea-houses with private twin rooms (blankets provided). Menu: dal bhat, momos, pasta, pizza, soup, eggs, etc. — plenty of choices and safe, hygienic kitchens. Hot showers & Wi-Fi available most places (small extra fee).

Yes — start walking 2–3 months before: 8–12 km with some hills or stairs, 3–4 times/week. Stair climbing (up & down) is the best specific training for the Ulleri steps and long descent.

Yes, 100% safe. The route is very popular, busy, and well-patrolled. We’ve had hundreds of solo female travellers — all feel comfortable. You’ll be with your guide every step and in tea-houses with other international trekkers.
