About Tour Package

This is a profound 7-day journey to Muktinath Temple (3800m), the most sacred site in the Mustang region, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists as the ‘Place of Liberation’ (Moksha). The tour is a dramatic overland drive via 4×4, plunging through the world’s deepest gorge—the Kali Gandaki—with the towering Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges framing your ascent.

The spiritual peak is the temple itself, where pilgrims brave the icy waters of 108 sacred spouts (Mukti Dhara) to cleanse their sins, standing before the unique Jwala Mai Temple where a miraculous, eternal natural gas flame burns simultaneously with water. After achieving darshan, the descent offers a reward: a therapeutic soak in the natural hot springs of Tatopani. This is a powerful, rugged pilgrimage blending deep spiritual tradition with high Himalayan adventure.

Frequently Asked & Question

There is no strict age limit, but due to the challenging road conditions and high altitude (3800m), this tour is best suited for fit adults. Travelers with chronic conditions or mobility issues should consult their doctor.

Muktinath is high enough to cause Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Symptoms include headache, nausea, loss of appetite, and dizziness. You must descend immediately if symptoms worsen.

The itinerary uses Kagbeni (2800m) for an overnight stop before ascending to Muktinath (3800m). This overnight stay is crucial for partial acclimatization. You must drink plenty of fluids and walk slowly at the temple complex.

The road from Beni to Muktinath is largely unpaved, dusty, narrow, and involves driving through the river gorge. It is a long, bumpy, and slow journey, which is why a 4x4 vehicle is essential.

Dress modestly and respectfully. Shoulders and knees must be covered. You must remove your shoes before entering the main temple and shrines.

For comfort and time saving, the 25-minute domestic flight is highly recommended as the drive can take 6-8 hours and is unpredictable. The flight cost is excluded from the package price.

Wi-Fi and electricity are readily available in Kathmandu and Pokhara hotels. In the high-altitude lodges of Kagbeni and Tatopani, Wi-Fi may be slow or unavailable, and you may be charged a small fee to charge devices. Carrying a power bank is advised.

  • Nepalese Rupees (NPR) are required for all transactions in the lodges and villages. US Dollars can be exchanged in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Carry plenty of small denomination NPR cash for tips and small purchases in the mountains.

  •

es, the itinerary includes a stop at Tatopani (Hot Water) on the descent (Day 5), where you can soak in the natural, therapeutic hot springs located right by the Kali Gandaki River.
